Audiences remember her jaw dropping performances in Tyler Perry’s stage productions of; Madea’s Class Reunion, Madea Goes to Jail and in feature films like; Lions Gate Entertainment’s, Daddy’s Little Girls with award winning actors Lou Gossett Jr. and Idris Elba.

Judy Peterson is a seasoned vocalist and actor with a rich entertainment performance pedigree. Whether rendering a Sunday morning, pre- sermonic selection for a small church congregation or performing in front of an audience of thousands at The Parthenon in Greece, Judy is comfortable in any performance setting.

Judy Peterson was born in Vero Beach Florida and is the second youngest of five children. Judy, like legendary vocalists; Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston and Jennifer Hudson is the daughter of a preacher and began cultivating her gifts and talents in church, at an early age.

Judy’s formal music training began in high school with basic music theory, voice, piano and participation in various chorale groups, ensembles and choirs. Receiving a full music scholarship, she continued her formal training in theatre, music and voice at Stillman College under the direction of Professor James Arthur Williams Sr., Chairman of the Music and Fine Arts Department at Stillman and Director of the internationally acclaimed, Stillman College Choir. During her 4 years at Stillman, she served as a lead soloist for numerous concerts and events around the country and abroad. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business with a minor in Voice.

Judy’s professional career includes extensive U.S. and European concert touring as well as live- stage theatrical productions by playwrights including; Tyler Perry and Michael Matthews. In 1993 Judy was guest/ lead vocalist with the Harlem Gospel Singers, touring throughout the U.S., Germany, Rome, Switzerland, Paris and Holland. She has also performed on many live, in- studio, TV shows, including Praise the Lord (PTL) and features on BBC Television.

Judy believes strongly in the power of the arts and its ability to positively impact youth confidence, self-esteem, and social development. Because of this belief, Judy was a partner in bringing The Burgess School of the Arts to the youth of Graaf- Reinet, South Africa. In 2017 (being of Bahamian lineage), Judy traveled to Freeport Bahamas to unveil her inaugural Judy Peterson, Shine Bright Seminar, which was created to help provide youth advocacy through self-esteem building in teens of Bahamian descent.

Judy Peterson has been heralded by entertainment greats such as; Patti Labelle, Quincy Jones, and Tyler Perry, who was quoted as saying; “Judy Peterson has the voice of an angel.” Knowing that her full potential has not yet been realized and believing that her latter years will be greater than her former years, Judy is eagerly looking towards the future with great anticipation! Judy currently resides in Orlando Florida.
